what is reiki?

Reiki is like a warm hug for your energy—calming, balancing, and deeply relaxing. It’s a gentle practice that helps melt away stress and restore your natural flow, whether you’re feeling out of sync, want to release some stuck energy, or just need a little reset.

During your session, you get to choose what feels best for you—hands-on or hands-off, talking or no talking, whatever makes you most comfortable. Many people describe a sense of warmth, tingling, or deep relaxation, like sinking into a peaceful, meditative state. It’s a simple yet powerful way to support your body, mind, and spirit—no effort required, just show up ready to relax.

All sessions are done with clothes on. It’s best to wear something loose-fitting and comfortable. Sweat pants and a loose top or a sweater dress work great. If you’d like hands-on aromatherapy, be sure to wear pants that can comfortably be pulled up to your knees.

The short answer is no. The long answer is – it’s always helpful to spend some time meditating in the day(s) before a session to ground yourself and come mentally and emotionally prepared to clear some energy. You don’t need to set an intention for a session, but you are absolutely welcome to come with an intention ready to set.

There is no massage involved with your reiki session, though you’ll be asked if you’re ok with a hands-on session. This means I may place my hands on you as we clear energy and utilize aromatherapy. If you’d like a hands-off session, I will only be hovering my hands over you.
