If you’ve made it this far—THANK YOU! You’re in the right place.
A little about me: I grew up in the California suburbs, always on the hunt for a field to explore or a tree to climb. As an adult in Utah, not much has changed. I volunteer for my local Search and Rescue team and now get to climb mountains and trees to help people out when they need it. I’ve always been drawn to energy and can feel the vibe of any room the second I walk in. Over the years, I’ve had some pretty wild spiritual experiences, and I’ve come to see them as a gift rather than just weird coincidences.
Growing up, I had severe health issues but didn’t realize what I was experiencing wasn’t normal. It wasn’t until my early 20s that I started to grasp how weak my immune system really was. Over the next decade and a half, I saw countless doctors and got nowhere. By my early 30s, I was barely functioning—some days, just changing my clothes felt like a win. I had enough energy each day to either shower or walk to my mailbox—not both.. I felt isolated, and while the people in my life wanted to help, no one really knew how.
Thankfully, I’d built an incredible support system over the years. A friend of mine suggested I talk to her aunt about Reiki. She said, “It sounds a little ‘woo woo,’ but I swear it helped so much with my acid reflux and anxiety after my last baby.” At that point, I was willing to try anything.
The first time I visited Katie Sue, she told me I had a very healing energy. I’d heard that before, but never from an actual healer. She said once I was ready she’d teach me about Reiki. I was slightly skeptical of the whole thing, but I also knew I had nothing to lose. I spent the next year and a half going to regular Reiki sessions with her. My experience was not that Reiki magically cured me, but I truly believe it was a huge part of my healing process, along with acupuncture, lifestyle changes, and a lot of trial and error. I still deal with endometriosis, Lyme disease, CIRS, and all the symptoms that come with them, but Reiki remains one of the tools I use to support my healing.
Once my health stabilized enough, I knew I wanted to dive deeper into Reiki—learn it, get certified, and use it to help others the way it helped me. So here I am, tapping into my own healing energy and getting a little more woo woo every day!
